What is the purpose of glaze, that you put in paint? Does it just make the paint shinnier?

Question:

Answers:
Glaze will make the paint appear translucent without changing the color significantly. It is used in many decorative painting methods to apply a layer of color over a different color while letting some of the base color show through. Some glazes also add a bit of gloss, but some do not.

It adds a shine without changing the color.
A glaze can be used in paint for more than one thing:

1. To thin the paint to do a wash finish
2. To keep the paint from drying too quickly when you want to work the paint.
3. To change the color of your paint.
4. To make the finish of your paint shinier.

It depends on the glaze you buy.
i like it because it makes the walls easier to clean. you can just wipe them down vs without glaze its like your sponge just sticks to the wall.
Yeah it just makes the paint look shinier
