When remodeling a duplex is it best to go from top to bottom or bottom to top if you can only do it in stages?

Question:

Answers:
If you are selling then work on the bottom and work up. Foundation, fix and repair ny cracks etc...

If you are living in or keeping it. Fix and and make nice on all the visible things.

Depends. Are you living in it? Are you planning to sell it in the near future? Are you doing hard wood floors? Then I'd start at the top. The dust settles for months afterward...

If you're not doing something major like that I don't think it matters. Do what you can afford. I would definitely do the kitchen and bath first. That is the best return on the investment if you turn around and sell. Curb appeal is huge too.

Good luck!
When remodelling pretty much any dwelling you want to do the flooring last, it really depends how much demolition of the place you plan on doing. Go room by room, dry walling, painting, flooring, then work on the main living areas.
