Mattress shopping?

Question:I'm trying to furnish my room in my new house, and I'm trying to do it cheap. I was talking to my parents and they said NOT to get a used mattress, and I guess that makes sense, but I was wondering how much a good, cheap, new mattress could cost. I have a very low budget, could I get a decent one for like $250-$300? (queen size)

Answers:
In that innerspring mattress price range, the minimal quality polyurethane foam in the top comfort layer will rapidly degrade resulting in depressions. Consider firm talalay latex with a wool fleece pad on a platform base.

I think BJ's sells mattresses. They sell almost everything there. I think they might be in your price range if they have them.
Sure, that's an easy price range, check out American Furniture or Denver Matress company they have over a dozen in that range. Good luck
