Have Super High Windows that need Shades?

Question:I asked about window tinting, and it may not block the evening sun. Any other suggestions? I have blinds on the lower windows, but the uppers are empty. In order to get something better for the upper windows, I would have to get something new on the lower so they would match. Help!

Answers:
Old fashioned roller shades are very inexpensive and have been used specifically for elongated windows in Victorian style houses. They can be dressed up by attaching designer fabric to the back as well as using decorative pulls. They can also be painted with acrylic paints to match your interior walls. Some folks opt for custom cut mini blinds. They can easily be adjusted to allow diffused lighting in while keeping intense sunlight out.

contact a reputable provider of window coverings. they make house calls and will give you an offering of a variety of options for your specific needs. be honest about your financial situation when deciding.
Unless you live in a place that is very hot and heat is a problem & privacy is a problem also (neighbours can see through those super high windows - top half) - I'd go with tinting. It keeps the sun out during the day when it's hottest but would let others see in at night. But if all they can see is the upper part of your walls - who cares?
Even if you decide you need something different, have a professional blind company in. Don't change what you have. There are blinds which lower and raise automatically by remote and you could install those for the upper half. If that makes the blinds on the bottom look less attractive, try adding a valace to them to add decoration and seperate them from the upper blinds.
I just had to say, window tinting WILL block out the evening sun. You just have to buy the right shade. They go from 0-100% blockage, depending on what you are looking for. And I think your windows deserve to be tinted, shades cheapen a grand window so! :) Good luck!
