Do you need a special paint to paint furniture? or can you use wall paint?
Question:
Answers:
You can use any kind of paint on furniture that you want. The trick is to make sure you paint a coat of primer first so the paint will adhere. A light sanding prior to putting on the primer is a good idea but you do not need to strongly sand and strip first, nor do you need to use oil based products. Latex will work but you need to make sure the primer is a latex primer since it is different for oil base paint.
use wall paint like me
You could use wall paint, but I would not recommend it..They do make furniture paint...you could check at your local paint or hardware store, or even walmart.they carry EVERYTHING.
GOOD LUCK
don't know what kind of furniture it is (wood, metal, etc.) but I LOVE Krylon spray paint. It works on damn near anything!!
I'd recommend sanding, priming with an oil-based primer and finishing with an oil-based enamel. Oil-based products will withstand much more wear and tear than water-based paints. This is same sequence used to paint cabinets and trim-work in new homes.
You can use house paint to paint just about anything.
If it is wood sand it and use a good latex primer like Klutz. If it was painted before you don't have to strip off the paint as long as you sand it and prime it. Then you can paint it with any latex paint. I use paint I get at Home-Depot and Lowes Miss mixed paint.
If you are painting metal then you sand it slightly then I use a spray primer then you can paint it with almost anything.
Also, if the furniture will get a lot of abuse I put a sealer on top.
Use a good latex. Or try Krylon Spray paint...works great. Or go with Kilz. You can get it tinted colors also. I got it at WalMart. Just make sure you sand the furniture lightly.Use a paint brush. Take off the hard ware and go for it.
