How to Price Garage Sale Items?

Question:

Answers:
price them with what you feel like the item is worth, not sentimental value.. how much would you pay for the item. add a little to the price you think and barter with the people who stop by. it makes a yard sale fun to barter the price with people.. plus this is stuff you are trying to get rid of so if time starts passing and no one is buying stuff, lower your rate. clothes usually sell better in like a bag lot of pile them and let people pick out what they want and charge a fair price for each item.

Larger items like furniture can be priced up to about $50, electric tools about $20, and then a $10, $5, and $2 table. I also have a box of free stuff. It's either sell it or dump it, so get what you can but don't expect to make big bucks.
about 10 cents on the dollar.
For more expensive items, see what they're going for on eBay and use that price as a starting point.
heres my tip 4 u1 Remeber it is a GARAGE SALE! You want rid of it, & its not new! Im not a big garage saler, Ive had 2 also I ll never do it again, so much work. but besides the point i know many many people who loe to go & to have. so dont price to high! Any1 going to the sale is looking for a "sale", looking for cheap, theyre going to bargain you on a bargain. times ive gone & seen something for $20 & thought are u serious, its used! So in the end, u are left w/ all your junk still. So if you want to price somethign higher go ahead price it, BUT your 2nd day, DROP the prices. that way u can say u tried 2 get the most u could, but the 2nd day, get ridd of it. anothr tip, midweek, end of week, better than weekend sales--ateast by me. people make 3x the amount on a wednesday or thursdady thean the fri sat. ok thats it
People are always looking for a great bargain, so if you are just wanting to get rid of the items, price it at the lowest possible even if you gave alot for it, if you are wanting to make money but not wanting to practically give it away , you can price stuff if it is really nice 100.00 and up, but keep in mind the cheaper your prices like clothes .25-5.00 you are going to have a more sucessful sell, because i love garage sells, but if someone's stuff is over priced i just go on, when i can buy it new for a few more extra! you could also just leave the prices off and if you are not sure how much to ask for something just ask the customer how much are they willing to give you for the item, you will be suprised what you may get!!good luck and i hope you sell lots of things!! oh one more reminder, if you do have alot of furniture, picures, etc that are of value change your sell from garage sell to estate sell, you can price your stuff a whole lot more by saying estate sell!
CHEAP, you are trying to rid of the junk. My husband always wants to price stuff too high. My moto, if it doesn't sell it goes to good will.
Baby clothes, .25 Adult clothes $1.00
Always have a box of free stuff, if people keep picking up an item and putting it back you know it is priced to high.
