House plans?

Question:im trying to purchase a house and the outside of it and all the frame work inside has been done. the builder was foreclosed on before finishing it. the county does not have a copy of the plans and i cannot get them from the builder either. it was started in 2001 and foreclosed on in 2004. how can i find a copy of the plans? please help!

Answers:
It is strange that the local building and (or) planning department don't have copies of the plans; usually for a job of that size a building department will require a planning review, and keep copies of the plans on micro film. Are you sure they don't have the plans by special request on micro film?

If they don't the next best thing to do would be to find the name of the designer/architect. They are sure to have another copy somewhere.

If those items don't work out for you try to hire a new designer and begin from what was already started.
