What color should i paint my kitchen in order to sell?
Question:the cabinets and applianes are white. crown molding around the top. i have red oak flooring but the counters are kind of a blue - gray and a bit of tan speckled corrian. the walls are painted a dark red almost maroon (the way we bought it) i thouht to brighten it up a little maybe a soft buttery yellow. what do you think?

Even though a buyer may plan on repainting the kitchen, you should paint it. Many people simply can't visualize and that dark color will make the kitchen look smaller. A soft yellow would be great--take a look at the Pottery Barn colors at Benjamin Moore--they have a great buttery shade. It will give it almost a French Provinical tone--maybe add a plant in a blue/gray pot. The kitchen will look cleaner and bigger--try to eliminate the clutter on the countertops as well. Good luck!
The yellow will look good, as shades of lime green too...
A light beige, in the yellow tones would be a great idea, hope this helps, and good luck with selling your home.
we have our house on the market & our Relator said that we didn't need to paint the rooms becasue when the buyers move they will repaint anyway then you're wasted your time and money, besides you never know the person may like the kitchen the way it is. (the rooms of ours that are kinda crazy are my daughters--two tone purple and my son's two tone blue)
I would do a peachy gray color to blend all the colors in your kitchen. Something Bright. or even a white would go great, to make it look clean and brighten up the kitchen to make it look bigger for potental buyers.
maby but tan will look ok to
