Do it yourself slipcovers?

Question:I would like to create my own furniture slipcovers using a painter's canvas dropcloth. I already have the dropcloth, and I'm ready to measure my furniture, but I'm not quite sure how, and what sort of thread should I use?

Answers:
When I did my own couch and chair I made some paper patterns so that it would all fit better. Then I put the pieces together on couch before I pinned them together for the best fit. I think regular thread is good. It worked for me anyway. Good luck! It's kind of fun to see it all come together.
