Where can I buy parts to build my own lamp?

For wiring and fixtures parts look at Home Depot , Lowes , in the lighting section of Wal Mart , or any other discount department store.. K-Mart Sears... Then just look around for something you'd like for the lamp itself. You could also recycle the parts from an old lamp your not using anymore. Just put everything in something new for the main lamp.
Maybe try a home depot or lowes. You can always try a smoke shop, they use lamp parts to make pipes for smoking tobacco. ;)

home depot sells lamp kits and i would imagine lowes does as well i think even michaels craft stores might as well then its just a matter of making or finding your base
