Antique colour glaze sounds like a good solution, can u make it up yourself, what does it consist of ?

Question:Just got a great book on, paint effects, and sponging with either a burnt umber,or ochre yellow might also work.

Answers:
there are readymade kits for that available at home improvement stores. i've seen the patina kit, the verdigris kit, etc

the only antique color glaze i made myself was during art class where we had to antique gilded molding using casein glaze. first we had to varnish , then the casein glaze went on and then half of it was taken off with a rag for an aged effect. i dont know where the school got the materials. from an art supply store i assume.

good luck
