Need advice on an accent color?
Question:Ok. I am going to paint my kitchen a sage green color and my countertops are a medium gray color. I want to accent either under the cabinets or maybe one wall. Guys, I need some ideas for an accent color. I don't want anything too dark and I definitely don't want yellow. Thanks in advance.
Answers:
Paint one wall an Orangish Red or a Light Khaki Color. Either one will compliment your Sage very nicely. If you go with the more neutral Khaki it could give your room the illusion of more space.
Sounds like it needs some warmth, try terra-cotta or a burnt orange color.
I'm not sure if I like the sage green with the gray counter tops, but rather than throw another color into the mix, I would go with a slightly deeper shade of the sage green. I Just did this with my kitchen. I used a very light beige and under the cabinets, I went with a cappuccino color. My counter tops are a mix of light and dark brown granite.
sage is nearly neutral, and paired with gray I would say you could use almost any color you like.
Maybe a bright bluey-lavender or if you want some heat, try pimento orange.
If you are wanting a subdued palate, try a rich rose or mauve.
try making the accent color a similar color as the countertops but slightly darker or slightly lighter
