Can you spary paint on top of latex?

Question:

Answers:
Yes, and you do not have to use a primer. If it if fresh latex paint ( within 14 days) you may wait as some spray cans will cause it to curdle. And do not use Krylon fusion as it has an etching agent on it that Will cause the latex paint to let go. Make sure it is clean and spray away.

you might want to sand it and add a primer first
You sure can, but there are a few things you have to do 1st. Clean the item thoroughly with water and TSP mixture. It's a cleaner for painted and varnished items, leaves no residue. Let dry thoroughly. Rough up the finish with sandpaper, wipe with tack cloth, then with a damp cloth(no TSP this time) & let dry thoroughly. Make sure you get into every nook and cranny! You should use a Latex spray primer, then your final spray coat of latex. I do not recommend that you use oil or acrylic spray over latex. Oil may not "stick" to it, as latex has a "rubbery" consistancy, and needs to "breathe". Acrylic is a plastic which will not allow the latex to "breathe". Good luck with your project. You might want to do a web search on the brand of paint that you are planning to use. The company may have a different take on the subject.
