Scaffolding to buy?
Question:I am building a detached house. Where can i buy tubular scaffolding from?
Answers:
unless you are suitably trained with the erection of scaffolding you are best advised to get a scaffolding company to carry out this type of work
don't get me wrong the erecting of scaffolding is straightforward but you need to be absolutely sure that you can put up a safe structure with all the spacing of the tubes to support the scaffold planks, bracing, kick boards and the correct use of different clips etc. Not only will you be using the scaffolding but the tradesmen who you employ will be spending a lot of time loading up or just walking up and down the scaffold plus as the job progresses you may have the building inspector or even your family and friends on the site
If the scaffolding is not erected correctly and any of those people are hurt by falling from the scaffolding or being hit by scaffolding falling down you could face a huge personal insurance claim, a scaffold company will have the knowledge to erect a safe scaffold in the first place and will also have the insurance cover in case anything happened
hope this helps
thanks

personally I would never buy it if you are building a house, get a company in, then they are insured if it goes t*ts up, you buy it, you are responsible and you have to go into 3rd party liability including if a thief is trying to nick something and he falls and breaks his leg or something.
you can buy it at an equipment rental place that rents out stuff like backhoes and other equipment we have one here in Pa and they sell it and rent it to you can do a local search on yahoo for an equipment rental place near you heck if you dont wanna buy it you may be able to just rent it for as long as you need or you can try Lowe's or home depot
The best place to buy at trade prices is Deborah services LTD. They are nationwide and are very cheap.
It is a skill, scaffolding and has to be done right or you end up lying flat on your back with a tonne of steel in your body.
Lowes or Homedepot also google it on-line.
