Where can I buy antique doorknob sets in California?
Question:The contractor who is restoring my Edwardian home mistakenly threw away all the doorknobs in the entire house. The knobs were original to the house and I would like to replace them with something similar.

But type in Antique Hardware in Google. You won't have any trouble locating an exact match.

There is also Scavenger's Paradise in North Hollywood and Architectural Salvage in San Diego and Crown City on Allen Avenue in Pasadena, CA. You may need all of these resources to replace the number your home requires. They all carry the genuine article saved from homes and office buildings. You, however, may need to supplement (it's happened to us) with Reproductions and you may find what you need at San Diego Hardware (I think it moved to Morena Blvd) or Restoration Hardware which has a catalog, some stores and website.
