How do I get rid of for good carpenter ants coming up through a floor vent in my room in a quad level house?

I would go buy some terro and put around that vent (unless you have some small children)- they will come in large quantities (might freak you out!),but, then they disappear.
worked for me.
(just make sure to keep a fresh supply for them for a few days)
put honey on a tortilla and when the ants get stuck on it, put lettuce, tomato grated cheese and hot sauc and you have a taco bell meal....um um ummmm
