Slate Glass?


Question:I have a Retro looking hanging lampshade. Its brown, amber and cream, with scallops. My friend says it is slate glass. I have never heard of it and looked online and could hardly find anything about slate glass. I am trying to see if it worth anything there are no markings, Can anyone point me in the direction on where to look? thanks all!
