How do i remove my hood vent over my stove?

Question:I am replacing my hood vent with a new microwave with a vent but in order for home depot to install i must remove existing vent HELP!

Answers:
Ok first thing to need to do is turn off power at your electrical panel to your hood, double check that nothing works on it and then you need to disconnect the power, usually theres alittle metal cover under it that houses the electrical connections. On most hoods there is 4 screws holding it up one on each corner, unscrew these and then your hood when you pull it down will probably just disconnect from the vent pipe.

You have to look up underneath, there are screws that hold it up.

But one thing to think about (this happened to me about 3 years ago. ) The hood vent is shallower than the microwave
vent will be. We had to have the cabinet cut down so we could see the stove controls and reach them.
