Can you help with painting a bedroom?
Question:We are painting the bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 had red paint. We primed it. Then put one coat of taupe semi gloss. Looks good.
Bedroom 2 had light aqua. painted it with white. Then taupe semi gloss. Both coats show streaks. Will one more coat of taupe help? Is it the way we are painting? Is there a best method to paint?

Try another coat- most of the time if the room looks streaky afterwards, it's because you didn't use quite enough paint. Also- wait until the next day and see if the streaks go away- the walls will always look a little streaky when the paint's not completely dry. Avoid streaks by using a roller and don't try to stretch a gallon of paint too far.
even one coat coverage really requires a second coat to get out brush marks and even out the color.
could be the paint you are painting over was oil based or something. Yes, just try another coat, it should do it! I've had to do three coats over white to cover!
paint in a big "w" motion. better coverage. and yes, another coat will help a lot.maybe two.remember once paint has achieved its maximum color it will not get darker.so paint away.
Depends on the quality of the paint. Always go with a high quality paint. it costs a bit more, but goes on thicker and requires fewer coats.
When painting, we generally do 3 coats.
Also, if you did not clean the walls, dust or oil may be preventing the paint from sticking.
TSP then a rinse wash will help with a good clean surface to paint on.
If you had semi gloss on prior that's most likely the reason, maybe don't apply so much pressure and yes the W and then fill in is the best way to paint because most walls aren't completely flat which will cause the line as far as washing walls with TSP well if you don't rinse it all off your paint most definitely won't stick so put that answer right out of your mind besides our grandmas use to wash walls and if your gonna go through that motion just use a roller with a primer instead of a messy wet sponge, good luck Les the painter
