Question:Im a 14 year old gurl who cant decide wat to paint. My bed is has green polka dots in different colors. But im not sure i want to go with just green. I was thinkin polka dots in a variety of colors but then i thought it might be cool to have a Japanese Garden theme to it. I would love to hear some anwsers. thank u

Answers:
You could paint the walls a soft yellow, keep your bed the same as it is and use accessories to jazz it up. Curtains, spread, etc in vivid orange stripes or polka dots.

Or...paint your walls a very pale green and your ceiling a soft, soft blue. Then paint your bed, desk, etc black. Add a bonsai plant, an orchid, a silky bedspread in an ivory tone with matching curtains and a couple of Asian influenced prints and you have a fabulous room.

Hope this helps.

green, orange.maybe a mixture...
Are you thinking of painting the walls in a polka dot pattern? I can't tell exactly what you mean by your comments. If you are thinking polka dots, I wouldn't go that route. You'd soon tire of seeing "spots" before your eyes all the time!

Paint your bedroom a neutral color or a light pastel. That way, you can let your accessories do the "talking" and change them out on a whim.

If you are stuck with red walls or orange walls or wild stripes or polka dots, etc., you are limited with design and accessories.

If you like the green in your bedding, but do not want more green, consider a creamy ivory or a lavender. Lavender, purples, and plums all go nicely with green. Try some color chips at the paint store to find combinations you love.
if you like to mix colors you can go for dots in yellow, pink, and blue. it makes a wonderful scenario for a young lady your age. it's feminine, and it looks cool! if you want to go for the Japanese garden then you need shades of purple, sky blue, or soft peach. hope it helps. p.s don't forget the bamboo trees for the decoration. (Japanese say is for good luck).
My daughter & I painted her room lime green and purple stripes that are about two feet wide. The ceiling is a dark blue. It is amazing.
PAINT EACH WALL IN YOUR ROOM A DIFFERENT COLOR, THAT SO MODERN AND IN STYLE NOW! THEN MAYBE GO TO A WALLPAPER PLACE AND BUY A POLKADOT BORDER PAPER! THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!
i think you should paint your wall with 2 different colour... maybe light purple and soft pink.. i think its a cute match for 14 years old girl... well, its my fantasy room colour... but my mother don't let me to paint my bedroom... so we just left it white! so boring.
paint your rooom purple with pink circles and match the bed too with the paint color
Since you are 14 and will be wanting a more 'sophisticated' look pretty soon... i would paint the walls a light sage green, paint your bed black. I am assuming when you said your bed was green w/polka dots.. you were referring to the bedding. You can still keep the polka dot bedding and make or get some art with polka dots. Also a lamp shade w/ polka dots, etc. Then make or buy a duvet cover in a japenese print of your choice. It will easier to change accessories as your mood changes than to be repainting, etc. Change lamp shade, etc. The basic black furniture and light sage green walls can be a good basic background for different things too as you grow older. A cottage theme for example... or even comtemporary. Have fun!
