In the process of redoing my master bedroom & the side door is dark navy blue & I don't want to paint it,?
Question:What different kind of themes could I go with? What color or colors should I paint the walls? One idea I thought of was Americana theme, if I did that what color (s) should I paint the walls?
Answers:
One idea is to take a color from your comforter, or draps. Usually a color that is small yet is noticiable, with this scheme the color of the walls accent your decor. In most cases anything with a yellowish or green tint will work or even a gray with a light green tint. You'll be astonished with your results when useing a gray and exploring your options. Gray goes with anything and useing the yellowish or gold tint( but not alot of tint) or even the green. Be carefull with the green, it has a way of dominateing and that's totally unacceptable. E-mail me if you have any questions and I'll do what I can. I painted Mansions in Buckhead Atlanta for 20 years and commercial for 12 years. I also painted for a decorator that inducted into the decorators hall of fame.
Dark navy could be used in a dutch theme or the Americana theme and antique it up alittle not the bright red white and blue but like old faded or could go with a navy "ole boat " theme and use white on the walls and navy to accent with alot of sea accessories. have fun and put some of you in it and I am sure you will love it
red white and blue. that way you can leave the door blue.
yellow looks great with navy blue. you could paint the walls a light daffodil yellow, have white drapes, shades or curtains then have a bed cover in brighter yellow with navy accessories. to splash it up a bit, you could add a few accent pieces in red.
