I want to remove one of the teleposts from my basement? Anyone have experience or suggestions?

Question:

Answers:
If you are speaking of the support posts, DO NOT remove them without contacting a contractor or someone that knows the structure of your home. They are placed in weight Bering areas to support heavy areas of the home. Removing one without adding other support can cause plaster cracking, floor buckling, ceiling failure, and even water pipe damage if the pipes are in that area.

Please define a telepost? As the previous poster suggested if you are talking about support posts or columns you will have to contact a structural engineer and properly redistribute the weight to avoid the fore mentioned problems.
