How do you make a bedroom calm, relaxing and romantic?
Question:
Answers:
wall color and lighting. No flashy colors, you want soft colors. Also recessed lighting on dimmers would help out. The sounds you hear in the background also can have a calming or relaxing effect. Like maybe one of the tabletop fountains with rock walls or stacks of rocks and some soothing music.
The combination of those things;Soft colors, dim lights, fountain, soft music, and throw in some candles. That should do the trick.
Wall color has a lot to do with it.
Candles! Also you can burn some oils like lavender!!
First of all make sure the room is clean lol then make sure its the right temp., (like having the a/c on if its hot outside) music or candles... that should do it
I have decorated mine in Victorian & Angels. It is romantic, serene, calming and very relaxing! My main colors are Cream, Mauve and Burgundy. I have Victorian Fans, Angels, Candles, Flowers and such. Also if you have a mirror over the vanity, place a flower swag over it. The candles not only look good but you can have a candle lit bath too. Very relaxing!
One thing I recommend is painting the walls. White is a stark color, and not relaxing. In my own room I have a rich plum color on one wall and the other 3 walls are a lighter color in the same family of purples. Blues, purples, and greens are all calm and relaxing. If you want something more neutral there are a lot of "tan" colors with warm undertones (I like "Tea and Sweets" by Ralph Lauren and "Barely Dawn" which is available at Lowe's). Don't be afraid to look at designer colors because places like Lowe's and Home Depot have a color-match paint system that can reproduce the color in another base paint (I recommend Valspar, it covers very well) that is more cost-effective. Stay away from reds, oranges, and yellows as they are "loud" colors for the most part and not very relaxing.
Color helps alot...and lighting.
Go for a monochromatic look...like if you have a tan color on the walls, paint the ceiling with a creamy off white (or a lighter shade of tan)...cover your bed in brown/cream/etc. colors and use lots of pillows so it looks soft. Throw a blanket across the end of the bed that you absolutely love. Put dim light bulbs in any lamps you use and cascade a sheer curtain over any blinds you may have. Remove ALL clutter...and relax.
Use candles and a lot of earthy tones. And even maybe some reds.
I think the first thing is to have it nice and clean, Bed Made, Nothing laying around anywhere. Pull shades, Turn on "one' Lamp. Have soft Spiritual Music playing.
I can see it now. >> Calm, relaxing, and well, romantic also, if you have a mate to impress!! (smile)
Well you can do the beach theme with lots of pastels, sea shore decorations, candles and a table top fountain. Or you can go Rosy with pale pink walls, a canopy with rose vines, flowing curtains, shabby chic bed linens, and lots of candles. No matter what you do candles are the key thing
