Teen redoing her bedroom-IDEAS NEEDED!! PLEASE HELP! any ideas?

Question:I can redecorate my room. Though, i can't paint my white walls or change my ugly old brown carpet. I have a small bedrom, about 11 x 10. I have a computer desk, a dresser, bed, and 3 night stands. I have a few ideas, but i need help expanding them.

I want it to be random looking kinda. I'm more into the punk rocker stuff, but not much. Any ideas?

Paint your desk & night stands your favorite color.
I like to paint my furniture the same color so it matches, looks more pulled together, rather than thrown together.
If you have a head board, paint it, or get creative and make your self one with an old door, lever doors, an old gate. Some fabric, a staple gun and a carefully cut peice of wood make a great head board. Do you have an ikea near by?
Depending on your budget, you can get a rug, bed spread and matching curtains for a reasonable price. They might even have matching lamp shades.
Or make some simple curtains with just a few yards of fabric from Walmart. A new bedspread and curtains do wonders for a room.
Check out HGTV or HGTV.com for do it your self canopy beds or head boards. You can even use curtains as a head board.
You can be as funky, random or punk as you want, but again, just make sure your colors match or coordinate nicely, or else all your hard work is wasted.
Have fun!!
