What can I use to hang floating shelves?

Question:My walls are drywall and the studs are too far apart, but also the drywall is only about half an inch thick and whatever is under the walls can't be nailed/screwed into no matter what I try. Any help would be appreciated!

it sounds like your drywall is mounted on masonry or brick basicaly so if thats the case you would need to predrill into that and then use wall anchors and that should do the trick ...
