New cabinets. and drawers...?

Question:Should I line them with contact paper? why or why not?

Answers:
If your cabinets are manufactured (look for a label inside or outside a drawer), you probably don't need to use any lining.

Manufactured cabinets come two ways:
The inexpensive ones have particleboard covered with a woodgrain vinyl wrap or (white) melamine.
The more expensive ones are wood veneer interiors protected with catalyzed varnish.

Either one is wipe-clean easy to care for, and only requires protection from destructive abrasion like heavy binders sliding in and out. I know this from long experience.

You can check this with the manufacturer. They likely have a web site. Just Google the name you find in the drawer. The site should tell you how the interiors of their cabinets are finished.

If your new cabinets were made by a local cabinetmaker then they probably need to be lined since the are likely unfinished inside or laquer finished. If they are white inside, that is melamine and doesn't need protection.

Depends on what they are made of where are the cabinets and drawers?
I line my dresser drawers with non-contact paper that is scented with lavendar.
