My floor is hideous, very old carpeting need suggestions?
Question:I moved into my families attic apartment, two rooms have carpeting that is clearly very old, I want to use one room to workout in however I hate the carpet and the floor underneath isnt so hot, any suggestions on what I can do? Someone suggested rubber mats however everywhere I looked they were very expensive and I'd need a good amount of pieces to cover the floor. Any ideas how I can turn this carpeted floor into a floor I can workout on?

You might want to check out "linoleum" at your local Home Depot. I have recently purchased some to put in my basement family room. Very inexpensive, many different styles, colors, easy to install (all you do is unroll it and put it in place)
call an expert at cleaning ruggs and carpeting. make sure u call some places get references who does a good job and a warranty. if the carpet is too bad of shape i suggest go to a bargen carpet place and get new carpeting but nevwer never skimp on the padding good padding will make your carpet last a lot longer trust me i ben there
Any types of mats you put down will be expensive. I have two suggestions-they may or may not work. You could replace the carpeting-usually at Lowe's they have carpet scrapes and maybe you could find one just your size..they are usually 75% off. The other thing you could do is tear off the carpet. Rent a sander and sand the floor and then apply floor paint. Those are the only things I could think of. Good luck!
