Bathroom/bedroom wall too thin?

Question:My bedroom is right next to the bathroom, and when the house is quiet, I can hear everything when someone goes on in there. It really bothers me... I mean, a room is supposed to be a cozy, comfortable place, but this is disgusting.
Also, I play a lot of guitar and loud music in my room, which bothers all the other rooms in the house. Maybe I could benefit from soundproofing my room?
How can I do this without putting anything (foam) on the inside, since my room is already small?
Thanks.

Answers:
There are products that can be injected into the existing walls of your room that will deaden the sounds. See a professional insulator.

You can go to a home depot or similiar and rent a machine used for blown-in insulation. They will sell the insulation to go with it. It would cost you about $100. for a day's rent of machine and a container of the insulation. The way you install it involves putting a three inch hole from either side of wall near the top of the wall between each stud( 2 x 4 wall support) which should be 16 inches apart so once you get one hole, measure 16 inches each way for entire wall. ( do this after confirming where you'll rent machine but before renting it so you're not paying for machine while drilling holes) Use what's called a core bit drill( also available everywhere, about $8) which cuts out a circle and leaves you the circle to plug back in with caulking when you're done filling with insulation. Sand paint and you are done.
PS: you'll need about 3 cubic feet of insulation per hole you fill so on a 8 foot wall there would be 6 bays or 18 cubic feet. Read package for coverage amount per package.

Also; As a contractor, I can tell you that you'd save at least $500. to do it yourself (If you could even get a contractor there for such a small job)
They have insulation that can be blown into the existing wall to deaden much of the sound.
Or you can do what we did unders imular cercumstances and drill several holes and buy cans of faom and do it yourself.
It works ok.
