Do I need a permit to put a bar in the wall?
Question:We just bought a house in california and want to put a notch in a wall between the kitchen and livingroom for a bar. Do we need a permit for this and what things do we need to know. I know how to do the work myself, I just need the lagits

Technically you have to pull a building permit to do this type of work on your house. Since you're doing it yourself I'd say just go for it and not worry about it. If you hire sub contractors to do any work you might want to make sure that they have insurance. Other than that, have at it and enjoy your bar!
no you dont because it is going to be used for personal business and not for the public use like any other bar...good luck and drink one for me
I build lots and you know my policy. It's easier to get forgiveness than permission especially for something like this.
