How would you tackle electrical fittings when skimming a wall?
Question:I mean flush light switches, and mains sockets.
Would you remove and plaster to edge of recess, or leave attached and use mastik to finish?

Definitely remove and plaster to the recess. You'll get a cleaner look this way.

the easier way is to tape it up with a piece of masking tape and remove when every things is done, bare in mind to switch off the appliance before you do it, safety first.
