One is for paint while the other is for lacquer.

Both products will thin an oil based product but not both a lacquer based product. Lacquer thinners dry very quickly compared to paint thinners. I an a painting contractor and the above post is completly correct...laquer thinner is a wonderful product but must be used in very specific circumstances and with much more caution than paint thinner
