Question:They take old rough lumber and put this stuff called Bee's wax ( not sure I am spelling it right ) on it and some how, heat it up with a torch and paint it and it looks real primitve. Now I am not sure if they are painting first but it is smooth when it is finished, you can you tell me how it works?

Answers:
There is a product called Bree wax. It comes in a can from most paint stores. You apply liberally with rags and as it sets in you buff it off and it leaves a soft sheen. The more you buff the more rustic look you will achieve.

Bee's wax is the actual wax that bees make to build the honeycombs that they store honey in. It is a high melting point wax that varies in color from white to dark yellow.
