Ratings of quality sliding glass patio doors in Ct?

Question:I would like the brand names of some quality sliding glass doors for my home in CT. Would you recomment wood or vynal? Other suggestions?

As a contractor, I would generally recommend Andersen and Pella. They both come in unpainted wood interior and vinyl clad exterior which is by far the most popular set up. My suggestion also is to consider French doors instead as they tend to have longer worry free time frame and are much easier to use and care for( although they do cost more).

A good 6 foot slider costs around $1200 to $1500 hardware included
A good 6 foot French door $2200 to $2600 hardware included

Be Careful doing this job yourself and remember that the header above the door is holding up the house above it. When in doubt, at least contact a licensed contractor or building inspector.
