Glitter Interior Wall/Ceiling Paint?
Question:I've already looked at home depot, lowes, and ace hardware. they all say they dont have it. i know it has to be somewhere. an old friend of mine had it on her ceiling. it was distinct glitter too, not just light stuff that sparkled only in light. i remember her telling me you put it into a machine and it would spray out the glitter. please help me find some kind of paint with a lot of glitter in it(silver glitter only, not gold) or whatever i'm referring to.

To get glitter on a sprayed texture ceiling you use a glitter gun that sort of sprays it up(poofs it up)at low velocity.It has a turn handle on it that when turned sort of just throws it up.You buy a jar or may bee a bag of glitter from the paint store,pour it in there and get it close to the ceiling.crank handle and it starts coming out the spout.
You do this while the ceiling is still wet and the glitter sticks up there-beware though-it gets all over the tarps and makes a mess as the glitter is real fine.
This works if you re-paint a textured ceiling but remember to work fast or have help as it wont stick to dry paint.
I imagine you could glitter a smooth ceiling this way but you ll have to move fast so the paint wont dry.
You will be able to rent a glitter gun or a "puffer"at a good tool rental place,some paint store might rent them-just ask for the glitter thingy-they will know what ya mean
You can get a few colors of glitter or pearl-it wont work just mixing it in the paint-it just gets covered by the paint.
Remember that the glitter will make a mess-Prob.more gets on the floor than the ceiling
It was not paint you are referring. It was ceiling texture that is spayed onto the ceiling. There was a trend in the late 70s and early 80s to put glitter in the mixture.
