How can I refinish/resurface ceramic wall tiles so I don't have to tear them out and start over?

Question:The tiles are colors from the 60's but in perfect condition.
How can I update them? They are currently yellow with a chocolate brown border. They are in my bathroom/shower so must be water/mildew proof.

Answers:
there are companies that spray coat the tiles now and they will also recoat the tub as well so it is all one color its like paint so it will cover the grout as well and its waterproof I saw it on a house flipping show and its cheaper then re-tileing good luck with the redo

With a can punch or a screw driver scrape out the old grout around the edges, make up your fresh grout and apply with a sponge all over when dry wipe the tiles clean with a moist towel.
You can have a durable ceramic tile mural made with any image , like a Tuscan landscape, frame it with a rope tile border , mount on a board, and install over the existing tile.. It will look like a window

So many of my clients have done this,It will give the area a focal point
