Question:have stone stair case in house ,want to lay carpet runner
should I use clips (have to make holes for screws )glue or stair rods what would be best

buy glue from a carpet fitter and glue proper carpet grips down. Because of the safety aspect i'd say a stair carpet is a job for a professional - it only costs £30
The glue is about £10 per tube and sets in less than 5 minutes, ready to stretch the carpet onto it.
Depends on the type of carpet/underlay if its foam backed glue will usually do it. Rods for a all around better job
