I have a huge, hidious, brick fireplace like from the seventies or something, and I was wondering...?

Question:if someone could please give me some tips on how to update the look with some sort of covering. What kind of materials should I use? any design tips would be greatly appreciated. The room it is in is sheetrock with wainscot on the lower half of two of the walls.

Answers:
You could box it out with studs and sheet rock. You could paint it, or use a light weight river rock (its flat on one side and the round rock look on the front), or tile over it.
