What color would make our bedroom look big? the is already 17x11 in a bungaloo house, and bedroom is a hexagon
Question:half hexagon shape, its gonna be a solid color, because of the shape I dont think two colors would look good.
Answers:
Go with something white, or light in color. Lighter colors are known to make rooms look bigger, it did wonders for some of the rooms in my house! You may also want to try painting the trim a darker color than the walls, not much darker, just a few shades.
Use whatever color you like but keep them on the light side of the spectrum...darker colors tend to make a room look smaller. Then accent with bolder colors..like your bedding, etc.
I agree with the others. Keep the color light. Try to avoid patterns. (Wallpapers) With the shape of the room adding patterns would make it too busy. Good luck!
White paint and a sort of wide mirror on a wall? perhaps since its so tiny a space, you can add some artsy type bright colorfull items here n there to give it the sense of more space? good luck~
two tone it white ceiling, very light orange wall, very relaxing color, great contrast...
try a fresh, lighter color on the walls and the the same color with 2 times the tint for the ceilings. Your eyes are attracted to the light colors and with a subtle depth to the ceilings the room appears to open up.
A shiny white paint will make the room appear expansive. It sounds like the space really is big - in one dimension. If you want to make it seem more square, paint the flat wall in the long dimension (half-hexagon, right?) a darker color.
Believe it or not the scale and proportions of your furniture make a big difference. Small furniture makes the space it's in seem bigger; large furniture makes the space seem smaller by comparison. Overstuffed stuff tends to dwarf a room, while sleek modern furniture and simple fabric patterns enlarge the perception of space.
With such a long space, you could really have two separate areas - sleep, and sit or lounge.
I would not do white-white is boring. I would something on the lighter side but it needs to have some color in it. If you go somewhere to look at paint chips pick colors from the neutral sections. They won't be super bright but they will add color to the room and not close it in light patterns and dark colors would. But again don't be affraid of some color!
a few options if you take the floor color on to the wall it will trick the eye into thinking the room is bigger then it is because the eye will not see a difference between the wall and the floor it keeps mooving out and another option is painting the cealing blue because it makes it feel like the sky... now if your not entirely crazy about the floor color on the wall then if you choose a wall color white or light blue is always good and then paint the cealing the same color as the wall and it will give the same illusion... good luck with the painting
