Can i paint a brick BBQ with brick paint?
Question:will the heat damage the brick paint on the outside of the BBQ.thanks
Answers:
There is a paint that is designed in high heat applications. You need to look for the paint they use on car engine parts, like the radiator. Try an auto parts store if you can't find it at your local hardware store. Be sure to get the brick really clean first. scrub it down with muiratic acid and the hose it off. follow the directions carefully on the muiratic acid it is pretty caustic and you need to be careful. Most brick is fairly porous so let it dry completely and it may take several coats of paint. Good luck.
No,it would just blister and peel off !, you could try one of the heatproof paints, but these are all gloss and won't look all that good.
Heat+paint don't mix.
No, it won't work. Try pressure washing the brick, instead.
Why not just enhance the natural beauty of the brick by washing it, or pressure washing it. Most all paints will bubble and crack under heat, and most give off noxious fumes when heated intensely. I think they sell special paint for barbeques, but even these can bubble and peal under intense heat.
no, itll blister, smell and possibly give off noxious fumes
jet wash it
on the outside i dont think its going to get hot enough to ruin the paint, maybe on top close to the firebox tho...
