What type of finish paint should I use to paint wood paneling?

Question:flat, semi gloss, eggshell? In den.

Answers:
You need to prime the surface with an oil based primer or the 1-2-3 primer made by zinsser which is latex(water based). Then you can use any of those finishes...the most common for panneling is satin. Satin is not really shiny but is usually very durable. I would recommend Behr at Home Depot or Valspar at Lowe's. It's easy and really makes a difference so good luck!

wood coler like tan or mabe like grey
is it an unfinished paneling? as far as the finish, it really is up to you. durablity would be the thing i woiuld watch. eggshell is nice for drywall because it doesn't show imperfections as much, semi-gloss is nice becasue you can wipe it down easy, flat just stinks-can't wipe it down and it looks cheap. hope this helps.
The paint itself does not matter, so use what you like.
However, for any paint to adhere and block out the stain on the paneling, you must first use an oil based "kills" primer.
