How do i decorate my bedroom as to not clash with red walls and pink cupboards!!?

Question:at the moment i have purple walls, pink and dark wood cupboards and a wine red carpet! i really need to re-decorate! but my parents wont let me change my cupboards or my carpet because its too expensive! does anybody have any ideas of suitable wall colours that would match my cupboards and my carpet!

Answers:
I would stick with white or ivory if painting 'cupboards' a different color is out. An area rug in a soft beige would tone things down and hide the carpet color.

What color is a housefire? That may help.
Will they let you paint your cupboards? I would suggest painting your cupboards all white so they all match each other. Your walls tan, or sage. Put down an area rug or several throw rugs on top of your carpet that have sage, burgundy and tan colors in them. Then get a solid color bedspread and lots of throw pillows in those same colors. And gauzy white floor length curtains on your windows.
Sounds like fun. I love redecorating!
will they let you paint the cupboards, too?
Go to a fabric store and look for the colors in fabric see which you like best with them or maybe you will find a fabric to tie it all together I would go with a light purplish gray or a navy blue myself just by the way you explained
wow what a challenge. i would start by distressing the cupboards. this can be done by buying some cheap crackling material at a paint store. it will give the cupboards an antique appearance. the purple walls gotta go. consult the paint store with this. maybe a nice grey. grey can go with absolutely anything and will blend in nicely and i think will cover over the purple. go to a reputable paint store. the carpet is an atrosity but not hopeless. be creative with how you place you furniture and maybe a few throw rugs that blend with your new wall colour. best of luck!
Well I am a former interior design student and my room has orange walls, red carpet, and cherry oak furniture, I accented one wall with red, white, and yellow circles and accessorized with vases and cute little dodads from thrift stores and dollar stores. You can leave your red carpet, and pink cupboards. I would go for a softer pale pink or very light peachish color on your walls and pick one wall, maybe the one over your bed, or even the ceiling and have fun with it. I would take a pencil and stencil out some fun shapes and designs. Like red and pink stars or something, and find a bed spread that tones everything down. I'd honestly paint my walls the peach color and leave the ceiling white and let that be your canvas. Then get a lampshade, maybe some fake flowers, and throw rugs and a blanket you can drape over a chair. Your room can be a million different colors as long as you like the colors and can tie them in properly. It's all about how you accent and accessorize. I think by your carpet and cupboards being loud and vibrant you need a light color on the walls but not white... It's boring, this also brings the attention to your cupbaords and carpet, then the eye will immediatly travel to the other colorful places, the ceiling or accent wall being the first thing then all the colorful things that tie all that in.
Paint the cupboards and walls!

White, Cream, Almond, pale dusty peach (and I mean PALE) not to orange -something like that.

Area rugs

I too love sheer gauzy curtains - white or cream with silver accents would be lovely with the wine.

A nice white or cream spread with wine floral pattern or something like that. Cream Jaquard bedding with mauve pillows, pale celery accents or peach and deep burnt orange.
