Can I use an ordinary flush mount light in a bathroom or will steam damage it?

Question:I want to put a flush mount light in the middle of the ceiling of my large bathroom but the one I want is not listed as a bathroom fixture, does anyone know if it would still be safe to use?

Answers:
i would buy a nice light with the vent fan

From the safety standpoint, I would not recommend it. Normally the fan will be centered up where a person would want the flush mount. Therefore, most people light the bathroom with vanity fixtures mounted directly above the mirror. An alternative is the moisture proof recessed can light.
