How do I remove a mailing label from a magazine cover?

Question:I have an old Life magazine that I wish to mat and frame for display purposes. The original adhesive based mailing label is attached and I wish to remove it without harming the cover.

Answers:
since the labels are usually in the corner of the cover i would probably just size down the cover unless of course it would take too much off your subject

Perhaps hold it over a steaming tea kettle & very gently pull away.
carefully steam it off, or follow "cookiesmom" advice and size down. Also, you could try calling the publisher and see if you can get an original or another issue of the magazine
