How do you paint the?

Question:lenolium. Don't want to take it up so what kind of paint can I use?

Answers:
Debbie Travis showed how to do it on her old show. If I remember correctly they scuffed it up with sandpaper and they primed and painted it and I think it was oil based paint. Perhaps someone out there remembers or ask at the paint store, and if you get someone who REALLY knows paint they can help

Take it up. Do the project right or dont do it at all.
That surface won't take paint I used to sell that stuff. It will only dry and flake off
You can prime the vinyl with a stain blocking primer like Bin or Zinser that will give the latex paint something to adhere to. It will obliterate the pattern in the lineoleum, so use two coats. A roller with a long handle attached is the fastest and easiest way to accomplish this. Then paint the colors or pattern you want on the primed surface. Another two coats. The real key here is sealing it . You will need at least 3-5 coats of a non-yellowing polyurethane, the more the better especially if it is in a high traffic or high moisture area like a kitchen, bath or laundry room. Watch for bubbles, particularly in raised or recessed areas on the vinyl. As soon as you begin to see the polyurethane beginning to wear, add another coat. Remember this is a quick fix, not intended to last forever, just until you can afford a new floor.
First thing you need to do is clean it really well with TSP. From there, make sure you prime it, and then paint. And then put on a coat of sealer of some kind...like a varathane.
