Do you know anybody artsy? Are you artsy?
Why not paint the sunniest wall in your room like this:

For the other walls, paint them in warm muted sand tones.
As for your window, have the louvered shades.

As for your bed, go platform.

Go for stripes in ocean colors. Find sand dollars, shells and starfish and use them as wall accents.
Bamboo and palm trees add a tropical touch as well. Look at this bamboo curtain.

Oil painting of a sunset, light colored candles, floating candles over a bowl filled with water, white sand, and seashells
Get one of those cool mosquito nets that hang from the ceiling and drape over the four corners of your bed. Kirklands had it last year for under $40.00. JCPenney also had it last year, maybe about $50.00. Hopefully you'll find it this year at one of these stores, or somewhere else.
Go for some very large leaf plants, get some sisal area rugs, medium to large clay pots with or without flowers in them. And you have to think bright colors, not pastels or neutrals. And long flowing lush sheers for your windows, that catch the breeze and flutter lazily. (I've been on vacation in the carribean many times, and I'm drawing on some very great memories!)
