What can I do now that I have screwed up by putting no-paintable caulking on my siding?

Question:I was replacing some siding and picked up the wrong caulking and put on the nail holes and under siding, when I went to paint over it I came to the realization I had put the wrong silicone on it. It is non-paintable. What should I do now???

Answers:
When it dries remove it and put on a paintable " Siding" Caulk. Like big stretch, or PL. as the siding moves with age the silicon caulking will eventually not stiuck well. Silicone is a good caulk for sealing water when the surfaces dont flex or move. siding moves and flex's with the weather so try to get a caulking that says it is flexable.

Cover it with paintable chalking and paint.
