Deck ME!?

Question:Do i need to powerwash my deck before adding a stain or sealer? The deck is about 1 yr old and seems pretty clean.

Answers:
I certainly would. That's the only way to ensure complete penetration of the new sealer.

you don't have to power wash

but take a scrub brusk, soap and water to one board and see if any dirt comes up, if so power washing would be good
Yes you don't want all that dirt underneath the sealant.
i would, powerwashing will make it look new again.
i tried this and the force of the water stripped pieces of deck off and needed planks replacing now i just use soapy water and a stiff bristled broom, its more elbow grease but better to be safe than sorry.
