Fencing for hot tub - legalities?
Question:I currently have a 4' chainlink fence around my yard & want to install a hot tub. I require at least 5 foot fencing and lockable gates for liability purposes (Canada). Has anyone got a suggestion other than tearing down the chainlink and rebuilding a fence? I'm wondering about lattice panelling running inside the current fence and then maybe changing the gates somehow. Just looking for ideas.verrrry frustrating as it all adds up given we already need to build a deck for the tub.
Look forward to answers/suggestions.
Thanks!

It's tough to say without understanding the layout of your yard and how the hot tub will fit within it but ...
I'd suggest finding a way to segregate the hot tub and deck in an attractive way and having that fenced separately. As long as you have the space there's no reason that the entire yard would have a 5' fence when the law is only attempting to restrict access to the hot tub.
I'm digging a koi pond and have put decorative fencing (about three feet high) only around the garden that will contain the pond. The rest of my yard is going to remain fence-free. There is no law in my area requiring the fencing but it seemed the smart thing to do for safety purposes.
Good luck!
