How do I make my bedroom more interesting?

Question:I have a desk and bookcase from Ikea, a queensize bed, chest of drawers and a wardrobe (it isn't fixed). It is about 4mx3m (about 10ftx13ft) with 2 doors - one goes outside. I like warm shades of purple, blue, green and a little bit of gold/metallic but not lots (I guess these are cool colours but I dont like them very bright). I have a bit of money to spend ($100 Australian which I think is around $70USD). I'm renting so I can't paint the walls and am a bit skeptical about sticking stuff on and having the paint come off. Any suggestions about arranging furniture? I'm kind of creative but don't have a sewing machine or anything. How could I make it a bit more personal? I've just finished uni so I'd like to make it less like a 'student' type room and a bit more like somewhere to relax, any suggestons would be appriciated!

Check outlets for matching linens and curtins. I've even used a cool check shower curtin (made from cotton) as a window curtin. A must-have is a lush rug...don't skimp here; it will make a world of difference for your feet in the morning and it's the first thing you see when you walk in (other than the bed). Keep it modern...Ikea-like. For the personal touch...group like-items together that are your favorite...old toys, plants, artwork, photos, etc.

video cameras and mirrors, oh yeah.
om not sure my room isnt vary bright but i have lots of differeny colors idk if this helps but you need to put lots of color in your room doesnt have to be bright but just color
Get some stuff to hang on the walls. Curtains and a matching (at least color matching) bedspread with some throw pillows.
Go to yard sales and see what you can find. Do the room in whatever strikes your eye just make sure it doesn't clash (like a bright orange painting next to hot pink curtains). Additionally, there is stick on wall art that may be found in a decorating center or paint store. This kind is plastic and goes on without glue, it peels right off leaving the wall undamaged. Look around and go with what you like.
