Another deep one,Why do people want to spend a day in Ikea?
Question:Some people seem to want to live in Ikea, a whole day, Swedish hot dogs for lunch, crap furniture, instructions so vague even Einstein would struggle. Whats this all about?

Well you seem to know quite a lot about the store! Are you sure you don't live there? LOL!
I spent a day there once, not by choice, it was due to the fact that there were hundreds of people at the check outs queuing to pay for their goods. what does that say about a crap furniture store!? In fact, They don't just sell furniture & swedish hot dogs.. they have some really unusual items at down to earth prices! I was pleasantly suprised with the selection & quality of goods, i am very pleased with my dinner service & other accessories i purchased,well worth a day to bag a bargain!
Because it gives people an idea of what their living rooms can be like.
But I agree, the food is horrible and the furniture isn't anything to write home about.
I don't want to. It just happens. My husband and I don't like the contemporary items but I do like to wooden pieces and they are super easy to put together.
I, however, do not dare eat the food at a furniture store.
Cheap furniture... cheap furniture... and um. cheap furniture.
Oh yea, college students don't have lives... or money.
For those of you outside of college with well paying jobs, I don't understand... I wonder why people shop at Wal-Mart, but i know it's the same answer.. IT'S CHEAP!
A whole day? Is it true that Ikea has no windows,so you lose all sense of time, and stay there for ever? Mind you, its so bloody far away, I wouldnt go for just half an hour.
Tell me about it. I hate that place. I saw a programme about peoples love for the place a while back and there was this guy on there who said he hated ikea soooo much that he's travelled to all the stores in Europe to see if they all that bad. What a freak. If you hate something don't go.

They got nice stuff there , I wouldn't call it crap furniture ,the furniture is pretty descent. A whole day , maybe the person is homeless and wants a place to stay. I dunno

and the baskets are sweet i can't beleive they are holding up it looked semi poor qulity but it looks brand new still...

if u notice how the shops are designed.. they want people to walk around ALL of the shop.. which i hate
you go around some peoples houses and its like an ikea catalog page.lol
the instructions are pretty straight forward. but i did hate how they didn't put drill holes on my wardrobe i built.
So that they can secrete as many of their pencils about their person as possible. I can lose four a day where I work!
no I hate that place theres an amusement ride called "No Way Out" that's what they should re name Ikea

Its a great place to go and find design items. They
are excellent on prices and have some neat items.
I'd look at candles, and all the furniture sets they
have nicely put together and choose items that id
like and that I'd stop downstairs for a delicious
Cinnamon roll.

the answer is women...they can stare at shoes for hours ..dresses for more hours and if there's a man in ikea it's because his wife or girlfriend has said the kitchen "needs" changing..
Because it breaks the monotomy of marriage up. Cynical I know. But ultimately true. Its mostly a couple thing. I don't know any single people (me included) who have ever been - the're too busy enjoying themselves.
Because they need medication!

Oi! I've got a T2 Bay, 1973, restored beautifully. As for IKEA, maybe they can't figure out how to get out of the bloomin place!
IKEA is fab, loads of bargains, stuff you never even realised you might want!
It may seem that people want to spend all day in there, nut you will notice that Men storm around getting stressed, ladies take it all in, stay calm etc. The more you storm around and look for shortcuts the more lost you get - believe me - I have tried both!
They are trying to create a personal rabbit hutch, you should have sympathy for them, it is cruel to mock (lol)
Good question, but I don't have the answer either, a whole day in Ikea sounds like a nightmare to me.
i hate ikea. its just plain stupid.
I recently spent 2-3 hours at Ikea. The reason, it gives you a chance to actually see the items you're purchasing, set-up in a home-like environment before you purchased them. Also the majority of their merchandise is dirt cheap, compared to retail stores. However, you have to be an avid shopper. You have to enjoy shopping. If you don't STAY OUT OF IKEA. You will hate it (Michigan store). It's always crowded and chaotic.
People are getting ideas on clean design instead of junky tract house stuff. Some of the furniture is good-its worth what you pay for it-and the kitchen items are great. Why pay for designer furniture like 75.00 a tassle? Yes, that is a real price-I work in the field. Use any source to get ideas-and any source to buy as long as your educated as to what your getting. I don't eat there but its a fun place. So is the mall and people hang out there-something to do I guess.

It beats me! The last thing I want is to have the same things other people have. Junk, most of it. Hardware is pretty good I hear.
Why pay more for things, you are fooling yourselves if you think other stores are better, i would not spend a whole day there though
